Ok I am on a second monitor and the vertical lines came up on this one as well as my other monitor, the lines are sometimes red/gray, green/yellow, blue etc. I believe it might be the actual computer not the monitor, when i go back to the monitor i try moving the mouse to show the display but i always have to click and when i do the computer whirrs how do i stop this

I have a Sony computer monitor which is only a couple of years old – it came in a bundle with the Vaio that I purchased. Now I see these irritating lines in the corner of the screen going from the bottom to the top. Is my monitor going out? I am really disappointed in this computer – I had better luck with Emachines!

Once in a while my monitor keeps blacking out while I use the computer, then it turns back to normal. Why is this happening and how can I fix this? Is there something wrong with my computer?

I was working on my computer today, shut it down. Then later, powered it up and all of a sudden the monitor is not working. The power button is blinking, not just showing solid green as usual, and nothing is on the monitor. Anyway to fix it? I have tried unplugging the monitor for a couple of minutes but that did not work.
