Can the Wii play on a Dell computer monitor?
My mom just bought a Dell computer monitor for my brother’s birthday. Theproblem is, it does not have a port for the Wii’s cables. Is there a converter that works to connect the Wii into the HDMI input on the tv? We tried buying a cable that connects into a PC that would also be connecting to the monitor, but it does not work. Any help?
PS – I know the Wii isn’t HD. I just figured there would be a way to play it on the monitor.

you need a Wii VGA cable.
you MIGHT be able to find one at bestbuy, but I’m not sure.
also, what kind of AV cable do you have now? composite (red, white and yellow) or component (green, blue, white and 2 reds)? If you have the second one, component, then you may be able to find a component to VGA converter.
(please note, the cable pictured is a MALE component to MALE VGA cable – when what you need is a FEMALE component to MALE VGA cable) John N
Don’t use HDMI cable unless your monitor has built-in high quality audio, likely not.
There is a cable which connects Wii directly to VGA port, which your monitor should have.
I saw couple on amazon.com for good price.
Don’t use converters as they will lessen the quality of video. The more adapters/converters a signal goes through, the less quality is.
Ultimate solution would be buy that Wii to VGA cable, and RCA audio out (Red/White) to 3.5mm adapter to get sound from external speakers. Kyungwook
