The image on my computer monitor is sideways. You have to tilt your head to the left to see it right side up. I have been playing with the buttons on the monitor for 2 days, but nothing I do seems to correct the problem. Will someone help?

I have one of those huge, old style Dell monitors. This big monitor is probably about 5 to 7 years old or so. I’ve never had any problems with it until last night, when my normal viewing image suddenly looked like it was stretched horizontally like a rubber band. Everything was “pulled” to the left and right (thus the image, desktop, etc. run about 1 inch off the screen on each side. The images, no matter if it’s the desktop, a photo, or something viewed on the internet, are all “stretched” horizontally and “flattened” vertically. After I shut down the computer and powered everything back up again, the image came up perfect again. No sign of the stretching. Then today I was on the computer and the image was fine one minute and then the next minute, the image became stretched out again. Any ideas what’s wrong and how to fix it? Is it the monitor? Or is something wrong with my PC itself? I’ve not added or done anything different to the PC or monitor. Help!!

I would like to use my 26″ Bush hdtv as a computer monitor, I have a ati radeon hd5750 graphics card so i wont have any problems, However when i connected my graphics card and tv together via HDMI lead, its ok in resoultion 1366-768 but its not in hd, its like viewing it in vga quality. And when i try to change the resolution higher than 1366-768 the screen becomes blurry and horrible to look at.

Any suggestions would be alot of help!!!

Computer turned into yellowish!!! I checked the plug wires at the back of the monitor but it is ok I dunno about the wires that has been plug to cpu and it went back to its normal color after a while without beating up the monitor. Is it on computer settings or Internal problem?

Yesterday when my sibling was using the computer, the monitor picture just compressed itself and turned into dark colors. Then it started making a screeching noise, then it started smelling like smoke in that room.

Today when we turned it back on, it shows the desktop company’s name correctly without any problem. Then when it showed the xp loading screening, it was a tiny bit compressed, but right after that it was the same problem as yesterday.

What caused this problem to happen and how can i fix it? Please help.
I found out that the monitor is the problem. I tested the computer with vnc from my laptop and it seemed fine. Thanks for your help.

So ive restarted my computer hundreds of times but whenever i turn on the monitor it stay on for about 5 seconds then turns black but still says it is on so ill turn off the monitor and try again but it turns black? What do i do?????

I was on my computer early this morning and everything was working perfectly fine. When I went back on it at about 12:30 this afternoon the monitor was black, with the exception of the white arrow from the mouse. I shut it off, and after Windows loaded, I got the same thing. I tried unplugging it also. Neither of those things worked. I checked, and the monitor is plugged into the computer. What can I do to get my monitor working again? Thanks in advance!

It would change the brightness/contrast on its own. and then i would change it back, and about 5 minutes later, the same thing happens. When I return the brightness back to normal, it automatically changes it like 3 seconds later. and i cant make the box go away and the box sometimes freezes. can anyone tell me whats going on and how to stop it?

My computer monitor is having problems. Whever I turn the monitor on (not the computer) it always flashes with black and white. I have a lcd dell monitor. The wierd thing is, I can’t even turn my monitor off by pressing the little button on the bottom. I have a dell demension 8400. I know the computer itself still works because I heard some noises that are normal with the computer. The monitor seems to be continuously flashing. Any ideas? Now I can’t even do anything on my computer because it just keeps flashing and I can’t access the control panel. I will choose a best answer when I can access the internet on the computer that is flashing.

Okay my monitor works fine except for one little thing, sometimes when im using my computer, my monitor starts changing colors, not completely but in brightness ( it blinks in the brightness , it changes colors ). Then when i move around the cable that goes inside to the monitor (from my computer), it fixes but for a little bit. Is it the cable or the monitor?
