Connecting my PS3 to a computer monitor?
This seems like an obvious question, but I need to ask it before I spend a couple hundred dollars. Can I play my PS3 on a computer monitor? Would I just be able to connect it through HDMI with no problems?

I see no reason why this shouldn’t work.
Your other option is an HDMI (from PS3) to DVI (to monitor) connection. There are inexpensive but reliable HDMI to DVI cables out there. This will work if your monitor is HDCP compliant. I think all of the late-model monitors are HDCP compliant. If you do this you’ll still have to connect the A/V cable to the PS3 for sound – the red and white RCA cables. Either way should be fine. If your monitor has a HDMI slot, then by all means you can just plug your HDMI cable in, there will be an input button on your monitor, and you’re away! Adam
It will work only if your monitor is HDCP-compliant.
If you can’t find in the monitor’s specifications whether it is HDCP compliant or not, then it isn’t. Simply plug it into the HDMI input on the monitor and you should be good to go. 9121
