I heard that a website with a dark background uses up less power than a website with a white backround on a regular computer monitor. I would like to find out where I can find information regarding that fact… has anybody else heard that? Would anybody know the link to that information?

I believe that a website with a black background does use more power because a black pixel contains every color while a white pixel is just nothing and no color taking up less energy.

I could be wrong though corman1357

A white background uses up more Energy becuase inorder to make white light you need a high concentration of Red Yellow and Green (the three primary colors which are not red yellow and blue when it comes to light) and when you see black on a screen it is just disabling the radiation tubes… Thats right i said it your computer screen is radioactive!
