I have a TV that is going bad and want to connect a DISH DuoDVR 625 to a spare LCD computer monitor. I need to know what I would need to do that- cables and/or converters and whatnot. Thank you for any help.

    >How do I connect a DISH satellite receiver to and LCD computer monitor< You probably aren't ...or at least it will not be an acceptable solution to you.

Here are the outputs that receiver has to go to your TV/monitor
    • TV1 connections:
    • 1 set RCA-type audio/video outputs
    • 1 S-Video output
    • 1 RF modulated output (channel 3/4)
    • 1 optical digital output for Dolby® Digital audio

    • TV2 connections:
    • 1 stereo Agile modulated output

By definition, a monitor does not have a tuner, so you can't use the modulated outputs.

So does your monitor have a composite or S-video input? I doubt it, but I don't know as you have given zero information.

If your monitor is like most, it is going to have a VGA input.

All the signals involved here are analog... so it is possible you may find a S-video to VGA converter. Let's google that phrase and see what comes up. Here are a number of them.

I certainly would not pay that much but this is up to you. Stephen M
