Nam asked:

I am considering buying an Xbox 360; however, my main concern is connecting to Xbox live on my computer monitor. I understand that you need a VGA cable to play on the monitor. I also understand that you have to connect the ethernet cable into your wireless router. But, how do I switch between playing the 360 on my computer monitor to browsing the web?

If you have a monitor that supports HDMI then you can plug one into the Xbox and play that way. Or if you have VGA thats cool too….HDMI is better quality.

BTW….Your just now considering getting an Xbox?? Where the hell have you been the last few years???

I use to do this all the time. But then I bought a new TV….’
But anyways, you really can’t. Your monitor only has one VGA input, so in this case, you don’t have to turn anything off – you can just switch the cable! It is annoying, but it works no problem.

What you want to do is buy a HDMI splitter and a HDMI compatible Monitor (Most all new LCD monitors are) and plug the splitter into the monitor and plug the Xbox360 and computer into the splitter now u can use it for both. also they do make TVs that are made to espically format for computers so if u wanted to use a regular tv on your computer it would work but u would have to run every program at 600×800 with this tv it can do everything. if this is a perminent set up u might want to look into that

    Goodluck!
