So, I have a 19″ widescreen computer monitor LCD and would like to play my PS2 on it. How would I go about doing so?

Any products that you might suggest? Thanks

Unless you can find a VGA or DVI to composite video adapter, then it is impossible to play your PS2 on a computer monitor. MR. pimp(hector pimp)

I did this last year when I couldn’t get hold of a TV for a while… Personally, I used-.htm – though, due to some issues with how the PS2 works, you aren’t able to play all games. Also, if you go with that one, you’ll need to buy – which is the software to go with it. You’ll need that to allow the PS2 to run at the resolutions that your monitor will support, as most monitors run on “HD” resolutions. James C

not really u need an PS2 Video Convertor box, that takes your PS2 signals and convert to an VGA signal…

If your monitor has those input video connects of ps2 it would work then. Marcus B

In theory, if you had a cable that came with the PS2 Linux Kit which has VGA out, a Progressive Scan capable game, and a monitor that supports Sync on Green, you should be able to play games on the monitor that way. However monitors that can handle Sync on Green are very rare, info about that feature is rather hard to find, and different monitor revisions within the same basic model mean that the only way to find out if a monitor supports Sync on Green is to try it. As for the cable, I don’t think it was ever sold seperately and the Linux Kit was a rather limited run item and has been out of production for years.

There are devices to convert the regular video signals to VGA, however the resulting image may actually look worse on the monitor then on the TV. (Regular NTSC TVs run at like 640×480 resolution, which probably wouldn’t look all that good on a 19″ monitor.) One device I’ve heard of but have never used is the Blaze VGA cable. EdrickV
