Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a background that would essentially turn my computer monitor into a mirror? I tried scanning a mirror and it didn’t work.

You tried scanning a mirror? What’s wrong with you? No offense but if you have a mirror, why do you want your computer to be one too? Too sexy for your mirror?!

    It cannot be done.

    You… scanned a mirror… and thought it would work….

I think if you scan some peanut butter and jelly you can turn your monitor into a sandwich.

Seriously though, because of the way light photons work and how they reflect off mirrors (something monitors try NOT to do to reduce glare) it is not possible to scan a mirror (or any image) and turn the monitor into a mirror.

You could, in theory, hook up a webcam and put the webcam right on top of the monitor and have it display a mirrored image to get the monitor to mimick a mirror though.

wow people are mean. ill admit it is a little odd you tried to scan a mirror but i completely understand why you would ask the question. you just want to know the answer, geez! Well! You can get a webcam (I got mine at walmart for 20 bucks and it works great) and you hook it up and if you go to my computer and click on the webcam you get a full screen image of yourself. this way you can use your webcam as a mirror.

Nice try but I’ve got you. A fellow stumble user I presume? This question was asked two years ago verbatim, except for the slight rewording of the second sentence. I guess we are both losers for actually looking it upon Yahoo Answers, although you certainly one-upped me by actually re-asking the question.
