Recently, I had to get glasses because I was sitting too close to my computer monitor. So, I’m just wondering is 2 feet (24 inches) a safe distance to where my eyes won’t be damaged by the screen (CRT monitor, btw.).

If you are worried about damaging your eyes you should get and LCD monitor, CRT monitors fire electrons at the screen to make color, if you didn’t know that already, and I don’t think that is real good if you are going to sit close to the screen. The Bird

the eyesight defect depends on the light combination you are using in your room. some users would like their room to be dark and just the PC screen for light, though in my case, i have 3level brigthness control of my flourescent in order to change the brightness at anytime my eyesight changes to sometimes blurred or something that it isn’t clear for me to see over the PC screen. i can’t stay 24inces away also since i can’t read well the words unless i have to use an eyeglasses. so try to check your own sight which one will be better for you. ~o0o~
