At any dick smith store in australia you can get a HD TV for $500. i was thinking about getting one to watch TV shows but also to use it as my computer monitor. Most TV’s now come with outputs for computer monitor cords.

Nothing wrong with it and it will not damage anything as long as the HDTV has the input for a monitor.

Being Hi-Def, there should be no issues with clarity like there was with the older SDTV’s.

That’s the only real issue. If you can read the text from the computer without problems…then use it. If you can’t then it might be best to stick with the Monitor Alex

I use an HDTV as my monitor. It works fabulously:

It’s connected to my computer using a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

All I have to do is hit the input select button on the TV remote to switch back and forth between my computer and my digital HD cable box to watch TV.

    A couch potato’s heaven. :-D aviatingamateur

It’s not unwise. The only issue is if there’s something on the television you want to watch and you need to use your computer for something at the same time. Craig
