question about playing xbox 360 on my computer monitor?

i heard you can play your xbox 360 on a computer monitor if you have a VGA cord.
well i have a sony vaio all in one pc, so my computer is part of the monitor itself, if i plug in the cord to the monitor will it just start playing? or do i have to do anything to display the game on my screen?

On your computer’s front, there should be a physical button to change the input on your screen.
But all in one PC’s can be different….
