Random loss of picture on computer monitor?
Every once in awhile my monitor goes completely black and I try to unplug my monitor and plug it back in and still no signal. The only thing that works is restarting my computer – I got a new monitor so I know it’s not that – do you think it might be the video card? If so what would you recommend?

Its probably power supply or video card. But for the power supply to come into effect you need to have a really sucky power supply, or at least a really old one. jewjackson4
If you have an old monitor that works or one connected to another computer, connect it. If the problems still continues then it is the video card. and you will have to replace the card with one purchased from your local PC store if you have and open slot. Hopefully your current video card is not part of the motherboard but if it is you can use and empty slot. There should be a diagnostic program in your accessories section.
Check the power settings and make sure they are not set to turn the monitor off. Never 4 Get
