I already have 3 TVs and a PC at home, BUT my kids and hubby are always using them. I need somewhere to play movies or exercise DVDs, and since I’ve noticed that some flat screen monitors are less expensive than laptops and regular TVs, I was wondering if I could just plug a DVD to a computer monitor where I could at least watch something in my spare time. What to look for in video card and computer monitor other than saying it supports 1920 X 1080 P resolution or higher?

What should the contrast ratio be at? How does the response time and hertz help?
Also why can some monitors show more colors than other monitors ?

The computer monitor, goes form color to black from color to black, but it dopesnt shut off, how do you fix that?

The colors are all very bright and swirling, and look psychedelic; nothing is the color that it should be. The computer was working fine last night, but when I turned it on today the problem started. I have my laptop hooked up to a desktop monitor(because my laptop screen doesn’t work), so I’m not sure if it’s the monitor or the graphics card or something else on my laptop. I have Windows XP. Please help!

I was wondering how you can stretch out the screen on a computer when using a HD tv. Right now it has black bars to each side, and slightly thinner lines at the top and bottom.

I’ve read around where people suggested changing some settings on the monitor itself, but I’m not able to do that since it’s not a usual computer monitor, and it doesn’t that the little buttons on the set itself for that option.

I want to use my computer monitor to watch TV. But with the switch to digital cable (and converters) can you still do this with a tv tuner? or is it going to make it to where it does not work? I also do not want to have my computer all the way hooked up to this. I just want to be able to turn on my monitor and use the comcast box to change the channels.

I love the quality of these new computer monitor, but at the same time, I hate the glare and reflection. I’m just so sick of looking at myself when I use the net.
