I need a small screen to use in my room. To save space and cash, I’d prefer not buying both a TV and a computer monitor.

Should I buy a Computer Monitor and use a TV tuner card? Or buy a TV and connect it to my desktop tower? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each option?

I am trying to set my computer monitor as an HDTV because my graphics card has an S-video slot. So I’m thinking about running an S-video cable from the graphics card to my RF Modulator. Then I can have a cable going from the RF Modulator to the digital converter box. Then I would plug the antenna into the converter box. Would that work or would I need a TV tuner?

I want to buy a LCD TV to use as a monitor also as a TV. Is that a good idea? Or should I just buy an actual monitor and add a TV tuner to my computer?

I recently bought a new monitor for my computer. However, it also has a TV tuner. I don’t have cable service, but want to watch TV.

What do I need to buy in order to watch TV on my monitor? In other words, can you suggest a cheap antenna?
Thanks
Additional question: is digital vs. analog signal an issue? In other words, will I need converter boxes, or will the cheapest antenna out there work?

I’ve heard of products where you plug the tuner into your computer and then into your monitor, but is it possible to skip the computer and turn your monitor directly into a tv with a tuner, no computer needed? My monitor does have USB ports on it, if that helps.

Remember, a tuner directly into monitor, no computer!
Also, it needs to be able to have a cable tv wire hooked up to it. I use Comcast, if that changes anything

I’m looking to purchase a new desktop for my room. The room is pretty small, but big enough for a desktop pc. Being that I have no room for a television, I was wondering if I could use the computers monitor to hook up a time warner cable box? Is it possible to do without a tv tuner? If not, what type of tv tuner should I be looking at in order to connect a cable box and watch cable off the computer as if i was watching it on a regular tv?
