I have an old monitor that I want to get rid of and it doesn’t work anymore. I was wondering if it is considered hazerdous waste, how I should go about disposing of it. Are there any local places that will take it? How about places like Best Buy?

It IS considered to be hazardous waste. Monitors are built with heavy metals including mercury. There are disposal sites (not the town dump) in most towns. Here in Redmond we have “recycling events” that encourage residents to bring in this kind of waste for proper disposal. Check in the white pages of the phone book. William V

why not put it with the trash? My Husband used to pick up curb side and he took things like that.He is now a front load driver and trash is a booming business! Dew

Try those recycling centres or cash converters collections. They will buy your broken monitor. Not only you can get some $$$ but also you are protecting the environment zigrenessalg
